About D'Bayu Travel

Who we are and how we write our Malaysia travel guides.

Bayu is Malay for a gentle breeze, the kind you get on a beach in Langkawi at sunset or on a tea estate in Cameron Highlands early in the morning. That’s the feeling we want to help you find.

D’Bayu Travel is a small, independent guide to travelling in Malaysia. We write about places we’ve actually been, food we’ve actually eaten, and the practical stuff that makes a trip easier: how to get around, when to go, and what to skip.

How we write

  • Local first. We tell you what locals do, not just what’s on the brochure.
  • Honest. If a place is overrated or a tourist trap, we’ll say so.
  • Kept up to date. Every guide shows when it was last updated. Prices and opening hours change, so always double-check before you go.

Photos

Many of our cover photos come from photographers who share their work on Wikimedia Commons under free licences. Each one is credited under the photo, with a link to the original and its licence. Thank you to all of them.
